Susan Lovelace joined the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium in May 2014 as the Consortium’s Assistant Director for Development and Extension.

Prior to joining the Consortium, Lovelace served as a social scientist and manager of the Human Dimensions Research Program at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Hollings Marine Laboratory. She has degrees in zoology from N.C. State University, science education from East Carolina University, and a Ph.D. in coastal resource management from ECU in 2008.

 

Lovelace also teaches in the Masters of Environmental and Sustainability Studies Program at the College of Charleston, a passion she has enjoyed since 2009.
